Our Adult's Activities: “Fun, Fellowship and Faith”, Trinity’s Wednesday Night Supper: Wednesday night fellowship suppers are held throughout the year. Dinner is served at 5:45 PM in the Fellowship Hall and prepared by Dick Harvey. After enjoying a delicious meal and the fellowship at table, adults are invited to participate in regularly offered class studies. These include Biblical or theological study, along with special interest studies. Currently, we are doing a series entitled, “Wesley Wednesdays”, as we study John Wesley, the history of the Methodist Church and discover how to live faithfully as United Methodists today.
DISCIPLE Bible Study:
DISCIPLE is a program of disciplined Bible study aimed at
developing strong Christian leaders. It focuses on the disciple as
learner, believer, follower, proclaimer, and servant while providing the
fellowship of a small group for study, prayer, preparation, support, and
servanthood. There are many ways to participate in a DISCIPLE Bible Study class. Every fall, a new class begins. There are four levels of DISCIPLE, a variety of short-term topical studies, and additional challenging series including Christian Believer and Jesus in the Gospels. Most DISCIPLE classes are 32 – 34 weeks in length and meet for about 2 ½ hours. The exception to this is the short-term classes last from 10 – 12 weeks and meeting for 1 ½ hours. Start your journey with DISCIPLE I or one of the short-term classes. Additional levels may be taken after completing DISCIPLE I. The purpose of DISCIPLE Bible study is “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:12) This is the focus of all study at Trinity. Come and join us on the journey! United Methodist Women: Trinity has several circles that meet at a wide variety of times. Every woman is encouraged to attend. They offer studies, programs and various mission projects that they support. It is a great way to develop strong Christian friends. United Methodist Men: After a temporary hiatus, Trinity is in the process of reorganizing its UMM group. Check this site for updates on our progress! Children sing regularly in worship. Children's Choir is open to all elementary age children. The children perform one to two musicals per school year as well. Acolytes: Children grades 3 and up have the opportunity to participate in the worship service through the acolyte program. Acolytes are trained each fall and schedules are maintained. Card Ministry: During Sunday morning worship services, children are invited to grab a canvas bag at any of the entrances to the sanctuary. Within the bag they will find cards to color, instructions, and a copy of the prayer list. They are invited to make cards for persons on our prayer list and members in nursing homes. Children's Moments: Children are invited to the chancel area for a brief children's sermon toward the beginning of the worship service year round. They are led by the Director of Children's Ministries or by one of the pastors, and end with an invitation to dismiss to children's church for the participants who are in grades 4K through 2nd grade. Trinity's beautiful sanctuary provides a worshipful setting where we experience God's presence. We find it to be a place where we can draw strength and gain a renewed sense of belonging to the family of God. Worship services are held each Sunday morning at 10:30 AM. A wide variety of Sunday School classes begin at 9:30 AM. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. A nursery is available during all worship services. Worship at Trinity is open to all. Each service has a central theme based on the common lectionary of the church year. Services have dynamic preaching and beautiful music. The comprehensive music program is open to persons of all ages regardless of musical talent. Participating in the choir program is an excellent way to contribute actively to the worship of God. Special services include Christmas Eve Candlelight Services, Blessing of the Animals Service, Ash Wednesday Service, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday Services in Holy Week. On Easter Sunday we hold a Sunrise Service in addition to the traditional worship time. We join with neighboring churches in an annual Community Thanksgiving Service. At times we hold prayer vigils to lift up special concerns and praise services to celebrate special blessings. Trinity's worship follows the pattern found in the United Methodist Hymnal. As the family of faith, we gather: to worship the Lord, to hear the Word, to offer our prayers and gifts, to witness to the Word, to respond and go forth in service to the Lord. We pray that you will join us in worship to the Lord who has given us the gift of the Holy Spirit.
